Privacy Policy — Subreddit Scout

This policy covers the Subreddit Scout Chrome extension by GrowWithReddit. It is short because the extension collects almost nothing.
What it does
When you click "Scout this subreddit" on a subreddit page, the extension reads that subreddit's public information (its about page, rules, and recent top posts) and shows a self-promo tolerance score, a rules digest, mod strictness, and the best times to post.
What it accesses and stores
- It reads Reddit's own public data for the subreddit you scout (the same JSON Reddit serves publicly). It does not read your Reddit account, your posts, or any other website.
- Results are cached in your browser for 24 hours, along with a short list of subreddits you recently scouted, so repeat checks are instant.
- Nothing is sent to GrowWithReddit's servers.
What we do not do
No sign-up, no accounts, no AI, no tracking. We do not sell or share any data, and we do not collect your name, contacts, location, or browsing history.
Permissions
- Access to reddit.com/r/* — to add the Scout button and read the subreddit's public data.
- Storage — to cache scouted subreddits locally for 24 hours.
